This is a vintage tobacco box. A Portuguese, rosewood and satinwood keepsake case dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940.

• Beautifully presented lidded box, with appealing brightwork
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
• Of fine quality, the solid stocks present rich caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Interior makes attractive use of warm hued satinwood
• Lid dressed with attractive white silver plated mounts with central plaque
• Fretwork spells out the Portuguese word Tabaco
• Distinctive tiered wavy edge finish creates a fascinating visual effect
• Maker’s mark to rear for Reis Filhos, Porto – established in the late 19th century
